FAQs

There are currently two primary types of COVID-19 tests: diagnostic tests that look for active coronavirus infection in your mucus or saliva, and blood tests that hunt for antibodies, evidence that your immune system has encountered the infection before.
These diagnostic tests are considered the most sensitive for detecting an active infection, and the results are highly accurate. A fluid sample is collected by inserting a long nasal swab into your nostril or into your throat. RT–PCR is a variation of PCR, or polymerase chain reaction. The two techniques use the same process except that RT–PCR has an added step of reverse transcription of RNA to DNA, or RT, to allow for amplification. These diagnostic tests are considered the most sensitive for detecting an active infection, and the results are highly accurate. this is also known as Rapid Test, because the turnaround time is much quicker than an RNA test. From a patient's point of view, antigen testing works in much the same way as molecular testing. Your health care provider will swab the back of your nose or throat to collect a sample for testing. But instead of waiting days for your results, an antigen test can produce a result in an hour or less. Antigen tests are highly accurate. This COVID-19 test detects certain proteins in the virus. Using a long nasal swab to get a fluid sample, A positive antigen test result is considered accurate when instructions are carefully followed, but there's an increased chance of false-negative results, meaning it's possible to be infected with the virus but have a negative result. The problem is, these tests are more likely to miss active infection.
this is also known as Serology Test or Blood Test. This test looks for antibodies to the coronavirus. Antibodies are proteins your immune system produces to fight off a foreign invader, such as a virus. A COVID-19 antibody test cannot diagnose active coronavirus infection. All it tells you is whether you've been infected at some point in the past, even if that occurred months ago. Antibodies do not become detectable until at least several days after an infection has started.
Which Covid-19 test do you offer? We offer the RT-PCR test here. The RT-PCR is the most common test that is frequently used to detect the virus's genetic material in the body. Using this test, patients can know whether or not they have an active COVID-19 infection and can adjust their lifestyle accordingly. RT PCR test is the only one which accepted by all of the countries if you are wish to travel.
The turnaround time for RT-PCR test in here at Naseem Jeddah is 12 hours. You will receive your test result in result in WhatsApp if you needed. We are providing a 24*7 helpline for Covid-19 RT-PCR Test enquiries.
If you have any of the below mentioned symptoms, you can take a test after consulting a health professional. Fever or chills. Cough. Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing. Fatigue. Muscle or body aches. Headache. New loss of taste or smell. Sore throat. Congestion or runny nose. Nausea or vomiting. Diarrhea. Not everyone with COVID-19 develops symptoms. And not all symptomatic people develop all of the symptoms listed above. So if you feel unwell, consult your doctor. Which Specimen type do you collect for RT-PCR? We will collect respiratory specimen by inserting a nasal swab into your nostril.
No test gives a 100% accurate result; tests need to be evaluated to determine their sensitivity and specificity, ideally by comparison with a “gold standard.” The lack of such a clear-cut “gold-standard” for covid-19 testing makes evaluation of test accuracy challenging. A systematic review of the accuracy of covid-19 tests reported false negative rates of between 2% and 29% (equating to sensitivity of 71-98%), based on negative RT-PCR tests which were positive on repeat testing. The use of repeat RT-PCR testing as gold standard is likely to underestimate the true rate of false negatives, as not all patients in the included studies received repeat testing and those with clinically diagnosed covid-19 were not considered as actually having covid-19.
If you are planning to travel, for most of the countries, you have to provide a negative PCR test certificate issued from a verified laboratory that does not exceed 72 hours from the time the test is undertaken until departing to the desired country. So you are requested to take PCR Test 36 hours before your travel. For more information, you can contact our helpline number 0549105689
